Senator-elect, Ned Nwoko Bags National Assembly Impact Makers Award

Senator-Elect for Delta North Senatorial District and frontline philanthropist, Prince [Dr] Ned Nwoko has been conferred with the prestigious Award of Excellence in Humanitarian Services by Who Is Who organization, under the National Assembly Impact Makers category. The international attorney and former outstanding member of the House of Representatives is expected to bring his vast experience and huge connection to bear at the 9th National Assembly expected to be inaugurated in the first week of next month [June, 2019].

The popular Anioma-born politician received the award alongside former President Goodluck Jonathan and other iconic federal lawmakers including Senator Dino Melaye [Kogi West], Senator Mohammed Danjuma Goje [Gombe Central] and Hon. Tony Nwulu [Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency. The impressive occasion was staged at the Congress Hall of five star Abuja Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja on Saturday evening.

The amiable Senator-Elect who recently received his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] was represented at the ceremony by the Special Assistant (Special Duties) to the Executive Governor of Delta State on Contributory Health Commission, Dr. Michael Nwoko.  Other members of the delegation representing the frontline politician included Dr. Christopher Okobah, Comrade Joshua Opia, Chief Nosike Ogbuenyi, Mr. Austine Otuya and Mr. Kenule Nwiya.

At the well attended ceremony attended by the crème de la crème of society, the Delta North Senator-elect was eulogized for his numerous humanitarian services to mankind, Delta State and the nation at large including road construction and rehabilitation, the Paris Club loans refund initiative, scholarship to hundreds of indigent students, support and welfare for widows and handicapped persons, the sick and promotion of tourism and entertainment among others. They extolled the extra-ordinary philanthropic activities of the Idumuje-Ugboko-born prince especially through the Ned Nwoko Foundation.

In the acceptance speech delivered on his behalf Dr. Michael Nwoko, Prince Ned Nwoko pledged his continued assistance to the needy and the society as a whole. According to him, he sees philanthropy and humanitarian works as service not just of fellow human beings but also God. He therefore thanked the organizers for appreciating his efforts.

Some others who received various categories of awards at the event include Mrs Anjorin Rose Inikpi,  CEO Honour Five properties Ltd,  [award of excellence in estate management,  confirmed impact maker in the FCT], Silverbird Communications,  [award of excellence in broadcasting], Pat Ugochukwu,  Fabulous Clothing,  [award of excellence in business], Mr. Emmanuel Adukwu,  MD Mees Palace Football Academy, [Impact maker award in sports] and Dr Kenneth Egwuda,  Alps Diagnostics hospital,  [award of excellence in IVF Technology.

Others are Senator Joy Emodi, Proprietor of Brickhall School, Abuja [award of excellence in standard education], former Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Engr. Andrew Yakubu, founder, Maryamu Yakubu Skill development and educational foundation, Dr. Jumai Ahmadu,  Founder,  Helpline Foundation for the Needy,  [award of excellence in humanitarian services],  MC Tagwaye [best comedy show], Dr. Oluwatosin Dokpesi, MD African Independent Television (AIT) and Mr. Omoaefe Ejere, GM, Grand Cubana hotel, Abuja among others.
