2020 Job And Wealth Creation: Delta Gov't Recruits Another 850 Unemployed Youths For STEP And YAGEP Programmes.

It is pertinent to note that when it comes to Job and Wealth creation for youths and Women in Nigeria, Delta State Government stands out as the nation's number one empowerment entity.
It is so glaring that even the opposition political parties, directly or indirectly, have consistently acknowledged the candid efforts so far made by the Okowa administration in growing the state economy through strategic wealth creation via multifaceted positive and deliberate socioeconomic remodelling policies and programmes.
It follows that Deltans have come to terms with the transformational gains associated with the Youth Agriculture Entrepreneurship and Skills Training Entrepreneurship Programmes (YAGEP and STEP), which the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, embedded in his Prosperity for All Deltans Agenda. So far, YAGEP and STEP have created jobs and wealth for over 30,000 youth and women on the basis of positive skills and knowledge transfer from beneficiaries to apprentice and to employees in that order.
Never in the history of Delta State, and in one administration, that such monumental empowerment track record have been recorded with particular reference to democratic governance until Gov Okowa broke the records from May 29, 2015 and still counting.
With the gradual and steady implementation of the Stronger Delta Agenda, the 5th batch of 850 YAGEP and STEP beneficiaries commenced training last week in compliance with government firm commitment to raise more and more millionaires and future billionaire entrepreneurs in the state, without recourse to white collar jobs.
To boost the YAGEP and STEP programmes, Gov Okowa upgraded the Job and Wealth Creation Office to a full Bureau with Prof Eric Eboh as Director General. Ministry of Technical Education was also created to strengthen and add value to government deliberate efforts in rebuilding the state economy through various skills acquisition Programmes that provides automatic self employment after college and or vocational training.
It is obvious that the current batch of 850 YAGEPSTEPpreneurs, the labour market in Delta is now at it's lowest ebb, and it shall further be decongested to a near Zero level before the successful completion of this administration on May 29, 2023.
It is only fair for us as Deltans to support and pray for Gov Okowa and the Stronger Delta team so as to surpass the socioeconomic development agenda that is already impacting positively on the living standards of our people.
