TOO EARLY TO DECODE GOV OKOWA'S BODY LANGUAGE - BARR FRED LATIMORE

Delta 2023: Too Early To Decode Gov Okowa's Body Language - Oghenesivbe.

Executive Assistant on Communications to the governor of Delta State, Barrister Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe has said that the politics of 2023 gubernatorial race cannot be a priority at the moment, and that it was too early in the day to decode the body language of his boss, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa.

The EA Communication in a statement posited that the Stronger Delta Agenda of this administration remained the main objective of government, adding that now that the Christmas and new year holidays are over; it is expected that the Stronger Delta Team under the supervision of the governor shall settle down for full scale business so as to drive the vision to fruition in year 2023.

Oghenesivbe further asserted that those agitating for 2023 governorship slot should be allowed to exercise their constitutional rights of freedom of speech and of association, subject to responsible rules of engagement, cross fertilization of political ideas and in the best interest of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the power rotation internal agreement yet to be invalidated.

"I am of the opinion that it is too early to drag governor Okowa into 2023 governorship politics because of the urgent need to fast track the Stronger Delta Agenda, meant to consolidate on the gains of the Smart Agenda of the first term tenure.

"There are so many unconfirmed rumours making the rounds, especially on social media, and it is only fair to allow governor Okowa to settle down to deal with issues of core governance; because there are policies, programmes and socioeconomic action plans to be implemented as encapsulated in the Stronger Delta Agenda.

"One thing is sure, at the appropriate time we shall collectively as a people deal with the 2023 governorship politics without speculations, in the spirit of give and take anchored on equity, and good conscience; devoid of divisive tactics in line with  PDP's internal party electioneering strategies, alignments, realignments and for the benefit of all Deltans," Oghenesivbe said.
