SECURITY PERSONNEL MUST BE STRICT IN ENFORCING THE BORDER CLOSURE ORDER.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Health Monitoring, Dr Michael Nwoko, has advised the security personnel manning the various border posts around the State, to be strict in enforcing the border closure order of the government.

The SSA was speaking after turning back a fully loaded luxurious bus conveying passengers from Niger State, coming into Delta State via the Edo-Delta boundary at Igbanke. The bus driver claim they were headed for Onitsha, but the SSA who is also a member of COVID-19 lockdown enforcement Committee, on sighting the bus  immediately called the Ika South Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Barr Victor Okoh, who also alerted the DPO of the Agbor police division, who ordered the bus turn back to where it was coming from at 12:09 pm on Wednesday 8th April, 2020.

Another luxurious bus conveying passengers from Kano was intercepted at Edo-Delta border in Idumuje-Ugboko and ordered to return back.
Dr. Nwoko who was at the border on his routine border closure enforcement exercise, immediately ordered it to turn back to where it was coming from after placing a call to the Aniocha North council Chairman, Hon. Chuks Oseme Who directed the security agents at the border post to enforce the order at 2:35 pm today, Wednesday 8th April, 2020 and the bus was turned back immediately.

In a similar development, Dr. Nwoko and his team
alongside the Executive Secretary of Primary Healthcare for Ika South LGA, Dr. Nwabunwa Adaeze Chinyere also visited the Alifekede and Urhonigbe border posts between Edo and Delta State, where the SSA commended the healthcare workers and security personnel for being on ground to enforce the border closure order of the State Government.
He also encouraged them to put in more efforts as the State was on red alert following a report of a confirmed Covid-19 case in the State yesterday, April 7th adding the His Excellency, the Governor has made it clear that stricter measures will be taken to enforce the lockdown if the people do not comply.
