Onicha Ugbo Youths Commend Prince Ned Nwoko,
Drum Support For Stars University.

By Frank Iroroh

In a rare display of deep sense of appreciation and uncommon show of gratitude to a compassionate benefactor, about 500 youths from Onicha Ugbo, Aniocha Local Government of Delta State, troupe out in the early hours of Saturday 23rd November, to stage a roadshow in expression of their thankfulness to the charismatic and ebullient Hon Prince (Dr) Ned Nwoko for promptly responding to their appeal for assistance to fix damaged portions of roads in their community.

The youths armed with drums, trumpets and sundry musical instruments, marched from the heart of their community, Onicha Ugbo down to Idumuje Ugboko resident of the celebrated Prince of love and generosity.

As they marched, they sang, dance and extolled the sterling qualities of the Dike Anioma, whose magical touch they said, is transforming the socioeconomic life of the people in communities along that axis of the Local Government.

As they drum and sang into the exotic compound of the Star Prince, they were met by the Lion himself, who welcomed them and thereafter led them in a tour round the ongoing construction work in the proposed Stars University, for site viewing.

In an interview after the tour of the University, one of the leaders of the group, who simply gave his name as Chukwuma, said, 'we came here to thank our Oga for his quick response to our appeal for assistance to repair some damaged portions of roads in our community.
We are here to show appreciation for his quick response to our appeal.'

Continuing he said, 'if you have observed, I believed you saw some renovation works ongoing at the city entrance by the Benin - Asaba expressway. That portion of the road has been so bad and we the youths decided to do something about it. We met and decided to appeal to some individuals and the Council to provide us with the necessary materials to repair the place.
To our greatest surprise, Prince Ned wired us one million naira (N1m) instantly.
Also, yesterday, as he drove through, he equally stopped at the site and gave us additional two hundred thousand naira (N200,000.00), this and many other assistance he have been rendering to the youths of our community, prompted us to roll out drums today to appreciate him.' The young man emphasized.

Further, he added, 'we have just went round the University, we have seen the massive construction work ongoing in every part of campus. I am particularly amazed at the quantum of infrastructure been provided. I have actually not been here before now but from what I saw on ground, I want to say that something great has come to us and I thank God for that.
My prayer is that God protect him and grant him long life to accomplished his vision.
My passionate request is that he should consider Onicha Ugbo youths for job placement when the University takes off. You know the University shares common boundary with our community, so he should consider us when employing workers for the University when it is completed.' The young appealed conclusively.
